What am I up to every Wednesday night? Well, if you have talked to me at least once, you’d know that I’m at my house hosting Zuppa (Zuppa de Grouppa is the full name). For the last 2.5 years, I’ve been holding a weekly soup night around my dining room table, which began with a vat of Zuppa Toscana and a text to our neighbors down the street.
When I got the opportunity to paint an image of healthy community, my first thought of was Zuppa because it’s where I’ve met a lot of my neighbors, strangers, and friends' family, and have heard a wide range of life stories. While we've had our fair share of conflict and disagreements, there is something powerful about coming together for a meal in a place where you know you have a seat at the table.
